MISSIONS STATEMENT
 
The Scriptural Purpose of Shepherd’s Grace Church’s involvement in any mission is:
 
A. To fulfill the Great Commission of Jesus Christ (Matt 28:19-20, Mark 16:15, Luke 24:47, John 20:21, Acts 1:8, and Genesis 12:1-3).
 
B. To bring men, women, and children to a knowledge of God, resulting in salvation to those whom He calls (John 3:16 and Romans 10:13-15).
 
C. To equip and send out those individuals and families chosen by God to go into mission service (Acts 1:8 and 13:2, John 15:16).


 

DEFINITION OF MISSIONS AND LOCAL OUTREACH

Missions at Shepherd’s Grace Church (SGC) is defined as "The sending out and supporting of equipped disciple-makers who cross barriers of distance, culture, and language in order to establish and strengthen the church in places beyond the immediate sphere of influence of our members, both within and outside the USA."

Shepherd’s Grace Church's immediate sphere of influence is defined as the area of Local Outreach. Local Outreach includes presenting the gospel and meeting the spiritual, social and physical needs of people within the local community.

Local Outreach involves more of our people's time and personal efforts in the community. Missions, on the other hand, involves sending our people and investing more of our finances outside our immediate sphere of influence. At SGC, the Missions Commission is committed to mobilization of the body to be involved in both Local Outreach and Missions.

Our desire is for SGC to have a burden for People Groups through the conduits of missionaries.

Our goal is to be an effective participant in the worldwide task of fulfilling Christ’s Great Commission. We commit ourselves to be faithful to him and the mission to which He has called us, until He comes again.

Missions at Shepherd’s Grace Church will be defined as any ministry whose purpose is to reach out to people who have yet to claim Jesus Christ as Lord, and give them an opportunity to respond to the Gospel of Jesus Christ. The scope of our missions is based on Acts 1:8, with task forces assigned to our Jerusalem, Judea, Samaria and the ends of the earth.
