Ministry Description
Founded in 1996, Village Grace Mission Center seeks “to personally assist, inspire and equip urban families to become interdependent productive community members.” The Center provides various resources for families, including:
Classes to enhance life skills like budgeting, computer literacy, etc.
- Food pantry for those financially struggling
- After-school program for kids
- Community dinners
- Friday movie/game night
- Financial counseling
- Bible studies
While Village Grace works to meet the physical needs of those in the community, their main goal is to reach the lost in the community by leading them into a meaningful relationship with Christ. Village Grace wants those in the community to know Christ, grow in Christ, serve Christ and share Christ with others. Through this transformation, individuals and families will be able to break the cycle in which they are caught in and become productive members of the community and God’s Kingdom.
Involvement opportunities/needs
Individuals, families, small groups and youth groups are encouraged to get involved.
Serve in one of Village Grace’s many ministries: Summer Vacation Bible Clubs, After-School Tutoring, Community Dinners, Men’s/Women’s Bible Studies, Park Craft Ministry, etc.
Help maintain the Mission Center by volunteering for a one-day service project.
Provide non-perishable food items for their pantry.
Prayer requests
Pray for the residents in the Slavic Village area that God would open their hearts to receive the Gospel of Jesus Christ through the programs at the Mission Center.
Pray for those who have accepted Christ that they would continue to grow in the love and knowledge of Christ.
Pray for the staff and volunteers of the Mission Center, that they would not be consumed by busyness, but rely on the Lord and His strength.
Pray that the Lord would protect Rich and Reida as well as the Mission Center from any evil.
Pray for Rich and Reida’s health as they struggle with some health issues.
Pray that the Lord would send volunteers to fulfill all the ministry needs.
