Ministry Description
CHIEF desires to have effective Christian witnesses in every Native American tribe and all related tribes in this generation. In order to do this CHIEF has 3 ministry objectives.
Discipleship – They seek to train, disciple, and encourage Native Christian leaders
and believers in their culture and provide discipleship materials for the indigenous
church.
Evangelism – CHIEF assists the leadership of Native churches with evangelism
outreaches in their own communities and in unreached tribes.
Helps – They seek to reflect God’s love through the person of Jesus Christ as they
give practical assistance and respond to physical needs of Native people.
Ministry Update
Nine individuals from SGC church will be serving and witnessing to the Mesquakie Natives in Tama, Ohio from July 11-16. They will be helping Huron Claus with a School Without Walls, in addition to serving the Mesquakie Friends Church and the people of this tribe.
Involvement Opportunities/Needs
• Become a CHIEF Prayer Partner and keep informed of the needs and issues Native people face.
• Call, write, or email CHIEF letting them know what skill or skills you may have and would be available to serve in some capacity. They are always in need of carpenters, electricians, work oriented skills for work projects on Native communities in both the reservations and the cities.
• Pray and seek if God would have you prepare to go serve, and witness to the Natives in a future missions trip.
Prayer Requests
1. Pray for funds needed to cover all 558 Tribes in the USA with the Native Gospel of John.
2. Pray for the training of 200 Native pastors this year through Schools Without Walls.
3. Pray for wisdom, discernment, health, and safety for Huron and his dad Tom Claus (founder of CHIEF), as they teach God’s Truth to the Natives.
4. Pray that many Natives would be brought to a saving knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and that they would repent of their sins and be converted.
5. CHIEF has a wonderful interactive prayer calendar which can be located at http://www.chief.org/Prayerpage.html
