The Plight

God is holy.  Humans are sinful.  This is our plight.  There is no greater plague upon mankind, physical, spiritual, or otherwise that causes more pain, hurt, evil and wickedness than our own sinful hearts.  The Bible teaches that because of Adam and Eve’s sins, every human born after that is born in a sinful state.  King David reminds us of this in the Psalms, that we are sinful even from the point of conception.

There is nothing we can do or say on our own to get rid of this sin.  It is common to every man, woman, boy and girl that has ever lived or ever will live on this planet.  God created man and woman in Genesis 1.  God's holiness demands perfection of us, and when given a choice, we chose to rebel instead of obey.  This brought physical and spiritual death to the earth, and a separation from the perfect Creator, Whom we had betrayed.
